Abstract

ABSTRACT

The integration of technology in English language learning, particularly for enhancing pronunciation skills, has become increasingly relevant in the digital era. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of utilizing the ELSA Speak application in improving students’ English pronunciation, with a focus on its impact on learning motivation, pronunciation accuracy, and learner autonomy. The research questions address how ELSA Speak influences student engagement and adaptive teaching strategies. Employing a qualitative design through a literature review approach, this study analyzes scholarly sources related to the use of ELSA Speak in language instruction. Data were collected by reviewing indexed journals, with inclusion criteria focusing on relevance to pronunciation and educational technology. The findings reveal that ELSA Speak, through its speech recognition and real-time feedback features, effectively enhances pronunciation accuracy, fosters student motivation, and supports independent learning. However, challenges such as unstable internet access and varying levels of digital literacy must be addressed to ensure its effectiveness. This study concludes that ELSA Speak has the potential to serve as an innovative and inclusive tool for English language learning. It further implies that the role of teachers as facilitators is essential in optimizing the use of this application. The study recommends digital literacy training for both educators and students to support more effective implementation.
